Real Estate Bootcamps and Business Updates

Wow, I haven’t posted in quite awhile…. I apologize as I’ve been in Seminar Land.

I spent the last 5 days attending Than Merrills Marketing and Wholesaling bootcamp in Boston. I learned a ton of new info and met some great people. This is the fourth time I’ve attended this bootcamp and I always pick up new things each time. It seems like every year I go back our business is at a different point and I learn alot of new things that I hadn’t picked up on before.

I first took this bootcamp back in the summer of 2007 and really credit Than and his seminars in helping me put all the pieces together to get our business rocking and rolling!! I’m not sure when he’s going to be holding it again…. but if you’d like more info you can check it out HERE

Business Update

Even though we took some time off to attend the seminar we still managed to purchase 6 properties over the last two weeks! That’s pretty crazy!!!

We closed on three houses last week and three houses the week before. All six are rehabs so we now have our plate full with properties. I am way behind on the property updates. We’ve got quite a few houses now that I haven’t even posted on. I’m going to work to get some photos and videos together of all these projects.

While at the seminar I had some time to sit back and look at what we’ve accomplished in 2010. So far this year we have purchased 15 properties, we’ve sold 5, and have another 5 under agreement to sell in the coming weeks. Those are some pretty sweet numbers, and puts us ahead of our target of doing 2 houses per month. I think it’s time to up the goal to 3 houses per month!!

I hope all of you are reaching your goals for 2010. If your not email us with your challenges (info@hampdenhomebuyers.com), or post them in the comment section and we’ll try to help!!!

  1. Hey Matt,

I always loved the CT Homes episodes of Flip This House on A&E, so I got in contact with Than and he mentioned that he was conducting an intro to his Marketing & Wholesaling bootcamp through the MassREIA at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Worcester … this was back in February of 2008. So my friend and I signed up to attend the Windsor Locks, CT Marketing & Wholesaling bootcamp during that weekend. I absolutely loved it, and I still continue to study the manual and listen to the audio CDs, I just haven’t implemented the strategies quite yet. I remember when we did the comparables bus tour, I was on the same bus as Joe Metcalfe and we were joking around about how Than, Paul, JD, & Jeremy were always giving him a hard time. That’s the only FortuneBuilders event I’ve attended thus far … I’ve heard great things about Paul’s Rehab bootcamp, but I haven’t attended just yet.

  2. Than does put on a great boot camp … I went back in March of 2008 when it was in Windsor Locks, CT and I learned a great deal. Wish I could say I’ve been able to implement his teachings like you guys, but that’s just not the case unfortunately. Glad to hear you guys learned a lot of new info!

    • Hi Zac,

We were at the Windsor Locks bootcamp, that was my second time taking it. Have you been to any other FortuneBuilders events? I like Pauls rehab bootcamp alot!

  3. Wow- you guys are really rocking and rolling over there- congrats on your success!

I’ve never been to any of Than’s events, but have heard they are top-notch. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a real estate seminar, but the one thing I always enjoyed the most was just networking with and learning from the other attendees (usually over a couple of cocktails in the lounge). 🙂

Keep up the great work- you guys are giving 2010 a serious smackdown!

    • Thanks Steph,

I like going to a couple seminars a year. They are good to learn new things and network, but I also get a shot of motivation after every seminar and come home ready to take our business up a notch.
